Horror movies have always been meant to scare (duh). And nothing is scarier than something twisted. Twisted things can disturb us and show us images we wish we hadn't and can never "unsee." Very few horror movies can do that to us. What is the most twisted and disturbing horror movie in your opinion?

I would say TCM original, mostly because of the time it was made in. No other movies for 15 years or so were acually as twisted as TCM.

I'd say that even something like "Strangeland" is more twisted as TCM. I got a horror movie sent to me for a review a while back which was called "Eating the Sun". There is a scene where a guy is dancing around to ABBA in a dress while his brother "plays with himself" on the couch as he watches. Would you say TCM is as twisted as that? lol... I mean, come on... it's ABBA!

I agree with Darigaaz. TCM was released in 74 and the only other horror movie as twisted as that released before it was The Exorcist. I'm sure many people would say that Exorcist is the most twisted horror flick. You can't get much more twisted than watching a girl masturbate with a crucifix.

From what I can remember you don't really see the masturbating, you just see a bunch of splatter. Though I guess it's what you don't see that sometimes catches you.

What you don't see definently adds to the fear. I didn't think the Shining was twisted.

The shining would just be twisted in real life.

I'll agree with that.

The Shining is the most twisted of them all, so much random things, like the Furry Oral Sex scene that was near the end of the movie, that had nothing to do with it.

What you don't see definently adds to the fear. I didn't think the Shining was twisted. So then you'd agree that the original "Psycho" was as twisted as "TCM"? ;D Come on, a big guy chasing people with a chainsaw isn't exactly unusual. A guy pretending to be his mother as he kills people, that's more twisted... in my opinion.

The Exorcist is my favourite horror movie but I wouldn't really call it twisted. It's art, man! It's sublime! "LET JESUS FUCK YOU! LET JESUS FUCK YOU!"
