Me being a fan of Cabin Fever and writing reviews for my own website I figured I'd do a review here.
Cabin Fever is a film by Eli Roth. Many people claim to hate but I don't see why. After watching it my first time I already knew it was gold. Sure it isn't scary, it steals too much from other movies, but thats what gives it it's charm.
Cabin Fever is the story of 5 friends who go to a cabin after finals to party but their party is cut short by a disease that eats their flesh. One by one they get it and great gore follows.
As I said, The gore is amazing (Done by Nictotaro and the boys at K&B) and it's great as a horror fan to look for the homages such as: A song from last house on the left, a shot from evil dead and TCM, and a familar ending from Night Of The Living Dead.
Out of 10, I'd give Cabin Fever an 8. Just forget the ending though. Honestly, what was the point?

I enjoyed the betrayal aspect of the movie, where friend turns on friend to save their own ass.

That, is so, true.
*Magician pushes Derailer's fat ass into front of on-coming traffic... then runs away quickly.
Magician: (Homer impersonation) Heh heh, sucker.

Cabin Fever...... Well, what can I say.... The idea of the movie was ok. In the beginning part of the movie, I actually kind of enjoyed it up until this idiotic sheriff showed up and then the movie just went completely out of control. There were a lot of brainless and witless characters and scenes in the movie that just made it quite unbearable later on. IE: the part wherein one of the guys from the cabin went to the local store for help and ended up getting bitten by this pathetically stupid, power-ranger wanna be kid, and then hunted down by his equally brainless father! Where's the point to that scene?! I mean, if someone asks you for help, you either help or you don't but you don't hunt him down! And another was the campfire scene. What a bunch of morons! Of course, the idiot sheriff was there again on that scene acting all stupid even when the guy arrived at their campfire soaked in blood! What the fuck is that?! There are just a lot of things I could type down here about what made Cabin Fever a waste of time, but I think the main fault lies on the way the movie was scripted and directed. I'm sorry if this could be quite offensive to you people out there who found this movie to be 'gold'. Well, it's gold alright, 0 karat.

I hated it. What was the fucking point of a retarded karate kid yelling pancakes doing flips in slow motion. The film is basically gore, and when there isn't gore there's terrible perverted dialouge.

It's more like a bad tribute to great directors than a horror flick.

I thought 'Cabin Fever' payed homage to alot of great horror films, very well. Alot of people say it ripped off 'The Evil Dead', but the only thing I noticed that was the same was the cabin setting and their are dozens of "cabin" movies out there. It payed homage to 'Friday the 13th' with the "canoe" shot. It payed homage to many others and didn't steal from them but payed homage very well. The gore was awesome the plot was great too. I think it is cool that Paul (Rider Strong) starts out in the movie as sort of a shy somewhat dorkish guy trying to date Karen the girl he has known since seventh grade. By the end of the movie though he is a complete and total psycho which was really cool. The ending was great it was really funny. When I saw 'Cabin Fever' in theatres everyone died out laughing when the ending came. Their was alot of gross-out scenes. The movie isn't particularly scary, but it does succeed at making you laugh and maybe even vomitt. People should give this movie a chance.

The characters were idiots. The dialouge was just crap about sex and masturbation. Sure it paid homage to horror films, but every horror film shouldn't depend on in jokes.

Plus, for all you Chucky fans, it is because of the money that 'Cabin Fever' made that that "Seed of Chucky' got green-lighted and sent into the works. So I liked Cabin Fever becaue of its story and that it helped other films get made.

I loved this movie, but the only thing bad about it is the ending. The body is laying 10 feet from the kids and they're just filling their lemonade container. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy's head went into the thing and the kids would walk away with it.
