 Sci-Fi / Action / HorrorHeh, this movie was funny but stupid. It reminded me a lot of a "Power Ranger" with better fighting skills. The monsters in it are goofy, cheesy and generally boring. Most of the movie apart from some decent fight sequences are dull and strecthed to the point where you just beg for more fighting. The Guyver character is cool and is obviously played by a different actor/stuntman during the fight sequences (or whenever he is actually wearing the unit). Too bad that the actor who portrays the "normal/human" side of the Guyver character isn't all that good of an actor. There's still a chance of myself buying it though, since it is only $8. Pfft, I waste more money than that on my order from Hungry Jack's, lol. My favourite scene: When Guyver takes on two of the monsters in a river. Never heard of this movie. Neither had I until I decided to rent it. It's kind of fairly old (made in the early 90's). I think there are a few movies out about this character. In which Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker, lol) plays Guyver in which I believe is the first Guyver film. This film that I just reviewed is the 2nd in the series... I think.  |

The first one was great. This sequel sucked compared to it. The first had more action and Mark Hamill was in it, but he wasnt the Guyver, he was some guy helping the guyver. Very cool flick. Worth the purchase. The sequel sucked.

Too bad that the actor who portrays the "normal/human" side of the Guyver character isn't all that good of an actor. ...and you know who that actor is? David Hayter. Mostly recognized for his voice used for Snake in the Metal Gear Solid video games. |
