Stanley Kubrick's The Shining was a million times better than Stephen King's made for T.V. Shining. You can watch Stanley Kubrick's film in maybe a little over two hours and enjoy yourself or King's for six hours and hate yourself. I mean King's wasnt all bad, but it just wasn't Stanley Kubricks version. That alone made it horrible. This movie followed the book but, following the book doesnt make it good. Kubrick's movie was frightning, King's film was hilarious. I usually could care leass about special effects, but like I read on a site once, your nearest car dealership could put out a commercial with better special effects. Just forget that Stephen King didn't release a made for t.v. shining and watch Stanley Kubricks version, you won't regret it.
