As some of you may know, a couple of years ago, Stephen King brought a movie to the ABC network called 'Rose Red'. Like Stephen King's IT, Rose Red has 2 parts, totalling up to 4 hours together. A couple days ago when I was looking for stuff to rent a Blockbuster, I had the priveledge of stumbling upon it and finally seeing it.
This movie is by far the most interesting horror movie I've seen in my life. You don't know if it's real or fake, which made me give it the nickname "Horror's Fargo". 'Rose Red' is about a group of people that are doing an expedition in a gigantic mansion named Rose Red by its last living occupant, Ellen Rimbauer. In the houses history, 26 people either died or vanished in Rose Red's walls. It is also believed that Rose Red could change its size and shape any time it wanted, probably the cause of many dissapearances. During their stay at Rose Red, 3 members of the group either dissapear or die. The biggest shocker is at the end, but I'm not going to give it away. Take my advice, go see it!
The DVD: The two-disc DVD has some nice special features on the second disc including storyboards and an ABC special on what happened during Rose Red's lifetime.
Movie Rating: 5/5
DVD Rating: 4.5/5

Wasn't this movie 2 discs because it could only fit the movie on one disc without any extras? lol. Seriously, this movie was hella-long and bored me shitless until the end. Not to say I didn't enjoy any of it but I can't say that I'll watch it again for a long, long time.

Yeah, it was two discs cuz it was too long for one disc, but all the special features were on the second disc.

Why isn't it called Red Rose? That car accident really fucked Stephen King's head up.

Since that happened, King's novels are not as good as the old ones. Rose red, dreamcatcher, heart in atlantis all sucked...well heart in atlantis only a bit.

Rose Red was fairly average, it could have been better if it were shorter. I just found it boring at times.
