Well, this past Sunday i went and saw the grudge. I was actually not really happy by looking at the commercials, they didnt look too good but after i saw the movie i realised that they actually didnt do the movie any justice. The movie, in my opinion, is really good, the acting in some parts needs a little work and some of the graphics didnt look to great(mainly the tounge part). Overall though the movie was really good. The plot made sense but at times it got a little scetchy, it would move back and forth to different times when people were living in the house and then back to the present, so you have to pay attention really well becuase they dont tell you when they do that they just go right ahead.
Summary WITH SPOILERS(highlighted in black just in case you dont wanna read that part): The movie is about a family with a father mother and son, and later the house becomes haunted by the mother and the son because the dad finds out some secrets about the mother, and he then seeks revenge. After the deaths, anyone that enters the house then become a victim and the ghosts will keep following them until theyve taken that person out. They kill a few people(like in any flick like this) and eventually the hero(Sarah Michelle Gellar) figures out a way to take the problem out, but in the end it doesnt work out the way she plans and she then seemingly becomes another victim of *cues creepy music* the grudge.
It was a pretty good movie, not the best, but still pretty good. Im feeling kinda generous for this movie so ill give it: 7/10

Doesn't look that good to me, I rather check out Saw. Review Tip: Shadow, I'd concentrate more on giving your personal thoughts about the movie more. The longest part of the review was the synopsis. Concentrate more on reviewing the film and telling why or why not you liked it. Just a suggestion.

I had bearly come home and then i typed this up, and i didnt get a chance to sleep the day before, so i was sorta out of it, lol. But yeah, it looks better than the commercials make it look out to be, i really was shocked. but at least youd be able to get into the grudge no prob, with saw you have to have someone over 18 with you ...damn FCC

I just saw The Grudge today, and thought it was decent. The film was basically designed to instill fear within the viewer without concentrating too much on plot. Some 'scary' moments worked while others didn't. The original was better in my opinion. Anyone catch the nods to other notable Japanese horror films? The spiral shaped noodle seen somewhere in the middle of the film was a nod to Uzumaki. The very last image you see was obviously a nod to Ringu. When the 'ghost' drops her jaw could have been a nod to Ichi the Killer. The guy being pulled into the bath tub could have been a nod to Dark Water.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews for the Grudge. My guess is that it's a lot similar to The Ring, and is an attempt to cash in on its success.

It wasnt so much scary, as it was surprising, like when that cat always popped out of nowhere, and other stuff

You mean jump scares? They've been in many, many films, and a lot of times they use cats, too.

lol, I've also noticed that the Japanese use little kids as ghosts in most all their movies! Seriously, kids must be just dropping like flies in Japan because most every Japanese horror flick about ghosts has-you guessed it!-a creepy little kid.

Man, what a dissapointment. This tripe wasn't even on par with The Ring remake! One big messy glop of a film. Thanks for nothing, Raimi. And Sarah, stick to scooby flicks.
