I love widescreen, I never buy full screen. I must admit the bonus features have spoiled me because the only VHS's I have bought since I got my DVD are those with DVD's devoid of features (i.e. Ginger Snaps). I think School of Rock is one of the first movies to be exclusive to DVD and that trend will proabably pick up soon...tis the twilight for the VHS, Im afraid...

I like buying DVD's for the features, what is the point of paying more for a DVD with no features? Thats why i am annoyed with the Region 4 release of F vs J and TCM remake, they had no features. But another good point to DVD's is that you don't need to fast forwed or stuff like that.

I prefer DVD's over VHS. although with DVD's having the picture quality cleaned up and such, sometimes I find myself puttin in an old VHS of some cheesy ass 80's slasher flick just so I can get that old, dingy, dirty quality to the picture again! ;D ;D

DVD because of improved picture quality and special features. I like widescreen.

Some places sell DVDs for ridiculous prices...take Suncoast for example...when Wrong Turn first came out it was 30$! Id never pay 30$ for a movie unless it was a special set or sumthin (like the TCM remake). luckily though the prices there drop considerably fast...its 15$ now, but still....30$ for Wrong Turn??

What is the point of paying more for a DVD with no features? Better picture and sound quality, plus no matter how many times you watch you'll never get any small damages when you watch the movie later on in the future unlike VHS where if you rewind a certain scene too many times. There's your answer. ;D

one downside to DVDs is i think they are more susceptible to damage, what with being discs and all...When I buy used DVDs I often have to trade them back because of all the scratches and whatnot But then again thats only happened twice..

Sometimes if they're dirty the DVD skips.

Here's a tip.... Don't buy used DVD's unless they are really hard to find movies and also cheap. For anything else, always buy new. I bought my Child's Play dvd about 4 years ago and I have watched it over a hundred times at least, it has a lot of small scratches but has never affected the playback of the disc. It's still like it was new. If you take care of your dvd's you should never have any problems with them. I know a lot of people try to sell DVD's they bought because they were faulty but couldn't get a refund from the store they bought it from, so they try to get their money back by selling it to someone else. Beware!

It depends how good you take care of them, for example: I got Vice City last December and i basically play it 4 times a week for the past 4 months and it doesn't have one scratch. I know this isn't a DVD but its on a DVD disc

VHS for cult classics that won't go out on DVD. And DVD's. I'm mixed.
