I just bought The Relic at Suncoast for 10$. I personaaly think this is a really cool movie but I just wanna know your opinions!
Also, They have a special 2 for 20$ deal at Suncoast and I was going to buy Pumpkinhead and possibly The Fog. However Ive never seen the Fog and I was hoping that my FE colleagues would be able to inform me on whether or not its worth a purchase. Thanx! - El lobo ;D

I read the book of the "Relic" which it was based on. That was ok. What's the movie like?

To be honest its a mixed bag. The effects are awesome (done by Stan Winston ;D of Alien,Wrong Turn,Jurassic Park, Pumpkinhead fame). The gore is pretty cool and the monster looks like a hybrid between a lion, a beetle and a gecko...the acting is merely "eh". But still..gotta love that beast! (hes called the Kothoga in the movie but in the book hes referred to as the Mbwun). The sequal to the book is called Reliquary and its about a bunch of homeless people who mutate after ingesting a new drug made from the Mbwun plant. A third novel is in the works. - EL Lobo

Are you serious? I think the Fog was one of the worst movies I've ever seen and I like pirates and them killing people.

I personally thought the movie was good, but i have weird taste. Your best bet is to rent the movie first. Because its a movie like Bad Taste, House, CHUD and other low budget b-list movies....Its all about taste.

I enjoyed The Relic. The autopsy scene was really cool. As for The Fog, it has something that a lot of other films seem to lack, atmosphere . . . atmosphere . . . atmosphere . . . How was that Chalkie? Ring a bell? Well, you know what they say: immitation is the highest form of flattery! For those who are unaware, The Fog is one of Chalkie's favourite movies; she even prefers it over Halloween I thought it was kinda average myself. I guess the main problem I had with it was the pacing; it was excruciatingly slow. However, I enjoyed the final scene.

How did it lack atmosphere?

I think you may have misread my post, Da. It said there was tons of atmosphere in The Fog.

I'm flattered Enchanted, but did you have to tell everyone I preferred "The Fog" to "Halloween"? They'll never respect my opinion again

The Fog is classic horror! The Fog Pirates would rape the caribbean pirates and eat Depp for dinner! The music is sweet and on par with Halloween!
There is one complaint though. There's a scene where this lady walks down to the lighthouse, and well, she keeps walking, and walking and zzzzzz.... What the hell, carpentar!
Dont worry, chalkie, i still respect you as a person. Now lick my hairy chest baby!
