Ah I cant believe it! I just found out that the director of some of my fave horror films (TCM, Poltergeist, Funhouse) directed that steaming pile of donkey crap called Crocodile! Ah that was a horrible movie...I still cant believe Hooper directed it.... ..ah well.. at least We've still got those fond memories from the past...- EL Lobo

I don't think it matters. He's not exactly a great director. He's directed some decent movies but the job he has done on them hasn't been anything too special.

Well Crocodile and its sequal (Death Roll...pretty cool title but thats it) both suck. I still respect Tobe for what he's made in the past. The more recent directors I like are Ronny Yu and Eli Roth. Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Clive Barker, Victor Salva and Stan Winston (Pumpkinhead!!) are my old faves ;D *P.S. Unless you enjoy porn disguised as horror (which some of the deranged minds in here might ;D) stay away from Larry Clark films. I saw "Teenage Caveman" on HBO.....that was three years ago and I still feel dirty... ..and to think I thought it was a horror flick..

In my opinion Wes Craven and Stephen King are the most "Gifted" horror directors and writers.

Yep, I'd be one of those deranged minds that enjoys porn disguised as horror (and horror disguised as porn)!!! ;D Even so, I have to admit that I thought "Teenage Caveman" was crap. I didn't feel dirty after seeing it, I just thought it was really boring, stupid, and most of all, pointless. It was a real waste of time. The guy that played the lead, was one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen on film. "Kids" was quite a confronting and disturbing movie, so I expected quite a bit from "Teenage Caveman". Definitely give this one a miss! See "Toxic Avenger" instead! Now, that's a cool film!!! ;D

I agree with Da, they don't get much better than Stephen King. He's such an unbelievably gifted writer but unfortunately his books just don't seem to translate that well to the big screen. I'm really looking forward to "Bag of Bones"; I hope the film does justice to the book - it was such a great read!

"1408" oughta be a great film (read "Everything's Eventual" to find the short story its based on) And it cant get better than a Craven/King collaberation! I've heard that Craven might direct a big-screen version of "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon".... I'm still waiting for a "Rose Madder" movie version...that's a great book.

Yeah, that doesn't really surprise me when you consider how many of his books have been made into movies. I still don't think the movies are anywhere near as good as the books, however. "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon" was a good read but I don't think it would really work too well on the big screen. "Rose Madder", on the other hand, has the potential to be absolutely awesome as a movie!!! I agree with Rumble, it was a great read! And I'm surprised it hasn't been made into a film yet.

oh yeah, the next King story to hit the big screen will be "Secret Window" it stars Johnny Depp and is comin out in March. Also they should make a movie of "The Mist" (read Skeleton Crew to find this gem). It has sort of a Dawn of the Dead/Jurassic park feel. Its about a bunch of people who get trapped in a supermarket and a bunch of strange beasts are stalking the exterior.

see "Cat's Eye". It's a trilogy of short films. Two are from "Night ShifT"..."The Ledge" and "Quitter's Inc." the third is called "Every breath you Take" and was created for the movie,.
