Most original horror movies are very different from each other. But almost every horror movie fits under the category fiction. However, some horror movies try to take "the more real, the scarier" road. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre features antagonists like Leatherface that could exist in real life. In fact, Leatherface was inspired by Ed Gein, a real serial killer. Other horror movies, like Hellraiser, feel that the farther from reality the story is, the more the horror can be escalated. Between movies based on true stories and movies with fictional stories, which do you think is more effective in a horror movie?

I think Fiction movies have a much better effect to scare people and i'm not talking about any movies like Friday the 13th or Halloween, an unkillable man just doesn't scare me anymore.

Fiction does have a way of expressing our deepest fears.
