The Prowler - all the kills are good in this slasher flick, especially the neck slicing one in the pool. Irreversible - I don't consider this to be a horror or exploitation film like most people do, but it goes without saying that the ONE gore scene in this film is the best I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Here is how it starts off:  OUCH!! Day of the Dead - all the gore in this flick was stellar, especially that dude being pulled apart by the zombies. Re-Animator - Everything but the dead cat looked good. August Underground: Mordum - all the gore was sick!! Of note are the disembowlment and the self castration. Brain Damage - Dude pulling out his brain!! Sick shit!! Cannibal Holocaust - was anything in this nasty exploitation flick an actual "effect"? LoL. Anyway, the impaling was, and it looked damn real!! Check it out:  The director had to go to court for that and prove to the judge that it was an effect, not real. Cannibal Ferox - chick with hooks through her breasts was a bad ass effect:  So was the brain eating part and the castration. Castle Freak - biting off thumb, biting off nipple, and biting into neck was all good. Maniac - all the gore was superb especially the close range shotgun blast to the head:  More to come!!

Hellbound : Hellraiser 2: We have a guy cutting himself, some chains ripping off apart , some cenobite transformations....arrgh..

Ricky O has great gore!
Guinea Pig has sloppy but effective Gore
Terror Firmer has nice scenes

The Effects in: Hellraiser 1 and 2, Evil Dead, Re-Animator and the Original TCM were good. The original TCM was realistic.

I disagree with you Da. I didn't find the TCM's gore to be realistic. Especially in that scene where Leatherface kills Franklin.

That was excellent. I love Scanners. Don't forget the hand melting, hand crunching, and leg melting from Cronenberg's The Fly too.
