Surprisingly I'm sure, I'm going with Craven. Though both Romero and Fulci are a close 2nd and 3rd.

John Carpenter is my pick out of those guys. Halloween, They Live, The Thing, The Fog, Assault on Precinct 13, Christine, Starman, Big Trouble in little china, Prince of Darkness, Escape from NY, Vampires, In the Mouth of Madness, Village of the Damned & Ghosts of Mars. So many great and fun films AND he scores most of them with infectious music of his own creation!

John Carpenter, though Romero and Hooper are close. What is so special about Tobe Hooper as a director? He is a good director but He has probably made 3 good movies and a lot of average or poor movies, he is kind of overrated to me...

I went with Hooper just for TCM and Poltergiest, 2 of my favourite horror movies. Although I haven't seen anything done by Argento or Fulci, I plan on doing so. I just ordered Zombie by Fulci and Suspiria by Argento.

4 Movies out of how many? 20+ movies. Well, Lifeforce and Invaders from Mars were decent, and I haven't see TCM part 2. Crocodile was not great but it was fun.
