it's just my opinion, but I kinda hated "The Brood", or at least the last 20 minutes or so...

Good question. I think it was when I saw Pet Sematary in theatres.

If I'm not mistaken, De, you were the one crying at night because of the nightmares!
I wonder what it would be like to see it again? It's probably way different now than when I first saw it, just because I am older.

The movie that got me into horror was actually in fact both:
Nightmare On Elm Street Part5: Dream Child
Wes Craven's New Nightmare
"Come to Freddy"

NoES and Evil Dead II
I'd seen horror movies before, but those are the ones that really kicked off my love for them.

HALLOWEEN was the first for me - it was shown as part of a horror season on television in early 1982 and I had read about it in STARBURST magazine, issue 22 (the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK issue).
By the end of that year, films like HILLS HAVE EYES, SCANNERS and NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN were additions and the following year (1983) I regard as my graduation to full-throttle horror with THE BROOD and FRIDAY THE 13TH.
Sweet memories.....
