What are your favorite films adapted from King's books?
Favorite casting choices for his characters?
Also, what other Stephen King stories do you think deserve to eventually become movies?

I think The Shining is one of the best films that have been from one of King's books. Jack as Jack is so perfect it's creepy. I think the Rose Red movie kinda sucked.

Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance was also a great casting choice, though i dont think Stephen King had anything to do with that choice...

IT remains my favourite book/movie adaption. It may not technically be the best by a long shot, but it left such a mark on me when I first saw it. Seriously freaked me out. Pet Semetary and Carrie are close favourites.
My favourite casting choice was Tim Curry as Pennywise, of course. He took a character from a book that's very hard to imagine on screen, and just brought him to life. Even when I read the book I imagine Tim Curry's Pennywise.
A SK book that i'd most like to see as a movie is The Eyes of the Dragon, which isn't actually a horror novel but a fantasy novel. It's awesome though.

Well, theres The Stand, which although it is a mini-series, people are still including IT. Also Pet semetary, Carrie and The Shining, which if you've read the book, you'll see it actually has barely anything at all to do with the original story. Go shiny Jack Nicholson, you were the only real choice for the joker!

Movies: Well it hands down "The Shawshank Redemption"... ("The Green Mile" is real good too)...though if we're talking strictly horror, "Salem's Lot" ('79), "It", "The Langoliers", and "The Shining" (Kubrick's Version, even though King and Kubrick didn't agree on much during the filming of it).
Casting: Jack Nicholson, Tim Curry, Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman....

The Shawshank movie was great, the whole cast was perfect in it...
The Stand was great too, The Lawnmower man was awful, Tim Curry as Pennywise was great but I hated the 2nd part of IT.
I would love to see the Whole Dark Tower Series done but only if done right.
Gage and Pet Sematary were both really good.
The Other bad movie I thought were Hearts in Atlantis..Great book

IT and Carrie. Carrie has the mad-shit ending which is so tits! The ending dream sequence is freaky as hell.

Stand By Me. Not horror and based on a Stephen King novella, but still pretty good. River Phoenix was cast well.

I've liked almost all the movies made that were Stephen King books. I have almost all the movies and books. Horror and non horror. I'd have to say my favorite movie would have to be Stand by Me. I love that movie. I always have. Don't really know why but it's been my favorite movie since I can remember.
