I think that's a fair statement... though I must claim that there are certain parts to King's books that don't transfer well to the screen...

Maximum Overdrive was actually a short story, I believe.

Although I do love many of Kings books, I feel that the movie based on his books fall short. I think I might have liked some of the movies if I would have watched them before reading the books, but I've read all the books before watching the movies, and I just don't feel like they come even close. That's just my opinion though...
