I probably won't end up seeing it. But I guess it looks decent. Bub, it was one thing when you said decent a lot, I could handle that... but somehow you've driven your speech preferences deep into the bowls of everyone elses brain, I think I'm gonna go nuts...... Not really, but still...

It just sounds like your covering your own ass by saying decent, so as not to seem for or against it. Wussyboy!

I wasn't the one who called it decent. Or were you talking to someone else?

Well, 3 is a bit low I think... I mean it partially depends on what you consider a horror movie... but here's some released this year off the top of my head... "The Village" "Van Helsing" "The Grudge" "Darkness" (not released yet) "The Phantom of the Opera" (not released yet) that's five (not including the film OF this thread: "Boogeymen") off the top of my head, and I'm sure it's probably much more.... I agree with Bub: the PG-13 horror film craze is getting a little lame... Bleh 3 or 5, its not much of a difference... Plus all those movies listed are rated M 15+ over here so i really couldn't count the numbers of PG movies made in America.

My point was that I could immediately, without thinking very much, think of 5 (not that there were only 5).... Meaning there's many more ("Alien Vs. Predator" anyone).... too many if you ask me.... don't get me wrong though, the rating doesn't effect my like or dislike for the film... it just hurts it's potential in my eyes before I see it....

I dont have a problem with PG films aslong as they are average or better. If they are horrible movies, then i have a problem with PG movies. But then again, that basically goes for any movie i watch.

I agree. AvP should have never been PG-13, yet it was the tamest action film I've ever seen. And when Paul Anderson says "There's gonna be an R rated DVD cut," we get nada, and the DVD has no R rated cut at all. Why? Because there never was any "cut" footage (and if there was, is wasn't much). The day an "Alien vs Predator" film is rated PG-13 is the day I decided the PG-13 situation is out of control.

But who is to say that there wont be another DVD release of AvP that is rated R? Who knows, It may be released later in time.

I suppose that it's possible... though the DVD release that comes out on 01/25/05 more than likely we'll be just as tame as the theatrical release.... the runtime is no different (not longer nor shorter). We do get an alternate intro and 3 deleted scenes.... but the chances of those being R worthy seems pretty low....

Listen, the guy who wrote t5he original screenplay for AvP that wasn't used read Paul Anderson's original script, and said that the film is exactly the same as the script. Anderson just said there was an R-rated cut to get fans off his ass. Only one or two scenes were missing, and they had no gore except alien blood.

I guess so... But on that note, there was originally an R rated version of the Grudge, but for some reason the PG version was rated better from viewers.
