Sure this is a remake... but I think it's OK, because they're doing something totally different with it.... they're making it a musical (opera) version using the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber (not to mention dark and brooding director Joel Schumacher on the helm).... it's not like they're just rehashing the same movie..... besides I'm still not totally against remakes anyway... look at "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" ('03) and "Dawn of the Dead" ('04); sure they're not as good as the originals, but I still really liked them... plus it's obvious that 50% of movies right now are remakes, so we should just roll with the punches and hope that they're good.... TCM '03 is the best recent horror remake, alot of people seem to hate it though... i'm not sure why, maybe its because its not exactly the same as the original. But thats not exactly a reason to dislike a movie.

But thats not exactly a reason to dislike a movie. The very reason it's a remake of a classic seems to annoy a lot of people. Hell, I compare it to the original, and there's no way it measures up, but it's still decent.

what is ur favorie horror movie? Meh, I know it'd take longer but you could just check everyone's profile for that. I'll most likely start a new forum and have the favourite movie info right on each persons posts (you know like under their post count).

I never compare remakes to the original movies, they usually never can come close to being as good as the originals and the same goes for sequels. But i dont hate the remakes just because they aren't as good as the originals...

My favorite is:
Freddy Vs Jason
and
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
By the way, for the ones who have seen Freddy Vs Jason must know by now that the two greatest names in horror are coming back for a rematch, the rematch of the century....FREDDY VS JASON PART TWO....
