What are everyone's thoughts on "Halloween", and score out of 10 (no .5's please). Please remember a score out of 10.
This is one of the best horror films period. John Carpenter created a slick suspensful film, and gave us the white-faced William Shatner mask wearing stabbing machine we all know and love.... The music was great, the lack of gore actually worked in this film's favor. Great film....
My Score: 10/10
Scores will be collected until Monday, when we talk about week #11's film.
Week #11's Film: "Shaun of the Dead"

Halloween, John Carpenters greatest success to date... Halloween is my favourite John Carpenter film closely followed by Halloween II and this is for many reasons. The score to the film was great and highly memorable, Gore was not over used, the movie was highly thrilling and chilling at times and it introduced Michael Myers. Whats not to like?
10/10

A low budget masterpiece, actually more similar to the TCM than to the slashers that followed in the fact they both showed little bloodshed. Acting is convincing all around, and Curtis is sympathetic and believable. The atmosphere is thick and tense, and Pleasence delivers a charismatic and good performance. And, of course, there's the pitch perfect score.
10/10

The whole movie is well done on a cheap budget, what the Blair Witch only wished it could have been. It gave us Myers,Loomis, and added another movie to the scream queen of the time Curtis.
The soundtrack was great and the overall atmosphere was dark and creepy. The use of the Halloween holiday was good too and showing how evil and yet smart Myers was, able to drive a car without having done it. It was well done all around and one of the best of the Carpenter filems
10/10.

I wish I had voted in time because I would've given Halloween an 8/10. EDIT BY WESCRAVEN: too bad!
