What are everyone's thoughts on "Shaun of the Dead", and score out of 10 (no .5's please). Please remember a score out of 10.
Wow, what can I say? Great film! It's got a pretty damn good storyline, and it makes for a pretty solid horror film. Plus it's got a gigantic bonus: it's fucking hilarious as well... there's some pretty good zombie gore... the camera work is good, and the dialogue is obvious (because it's funny) superb.... easily the best horror/comedy in my opinion....
My Score: 10/10 ( I decided to change it from 8 to 10; sue me!)
Scores will be collected until Monday, when we talk about week #12's film.

God, I love this movie. The actors all deliver hillarious performances that are pitch perfect for their characters. The script is funny as hell and has many in-jokes for horror fans of the zombie sub-genre.
9/10

This movie was great, Comedy, Action, Horror...they blend it all in great. The actors are good, the gore is well done and the message that we are oblivious to what are around us. Great movie.
10/10.

Take your seats gentlemen.
Shaun of the Dead
I am afraid i suffered from overhype. You know, that dreaded thing where you go in expecting something epic, and come out with less than.
While there were bits of gold, the first half hour just felt prolonged. I found myself waiting and waiting for something to happen. Not good.
Then, the film picks up the pace. Hilarious scenes filled with nice moments. I really enjoyed the journey to the pub. Once in the pub, though, i felt a small sense of ho-hum.
I never actually caught the sense that there was any real danger, what with all the joking the film does. The deaths were good. With the exception of the guy pulled through the pub window. Really Good.
The beating of the bartendar, to some silly music, just killed it for me. I thought there was supposed to be some dark moments in the film, according to some people. But it was a full blown comedy. Pretty good one at that, but i still prefer Return of the Living Dead over this.
7/10

The scary thing is that De actually says what I think about the movie, mostly. I still love it but it did start a little slow and the ending just seemed out of place to the first hour of the film.
8/10

Definitely 10/10 It was gory and hilarious, which is a tough combo to pull off. The scene where Shaun has to shoot his zombified mom made me cry. Any zombie flick that can make me care that much about the characters without being downbeat and maudlin gets full points from me. i still prefer Return of the Living Dead over this. RoTLD is one of my all-time favorites.
