I think it the most unusual of the Cronenberg 70's Holy Trinity (SHIVERS and RABID being the other two), but has some terrific make-up (the external foetus is an amazing concoction)
It tends to make more sense as you grow older.

Frankly, I'm suprised how low the scores for this are. As far as horror films go, the acting was quite convincing, the plot was interesting and original and made sense to me, and it had some great moments.
9/10

I would like to thank Wes for destroying a childhood remembrance i had with this film. After just ordering it on Netflix and viewing it since my childhood years, i find that not only is this a slow paced snoozefest, but its not even scary!
Where was that horrible scene of the teacher attacked and killed by mutant kids? Sure as hell wasn't here. All i saw were 2 lil shits hitting a teacher with Toy mallets.
Man was this film Boring.
The only saving grace was Oliver Reed and his portrayal as Dr. Hal Raglan. Great acting. Rest his Soul.
3/10
