The Commercials for White Noise are showing on Tv and while i like the premise of it, i am turned off to the fact that Michael Keaton is the star. It's a problem i have been having recently. I can't get into the character in the film when i keep expecting Keaton to stop mid line and say "I'm Batman" Or See Sarah Michelle in the Grudge and expect her to stake someone.
Typecasting being the key issue here. I know actors dread being typecast, but it happens. Mark Hamill will always be Luke, Vernon Troyer always Mini-me & Dustin Diamond always Screech.
Some actors i can see past them and accept the role, like Gary Oldman or Kevin Spacey. But not these heavily typecast actors.

Thats understandable...I can see how this would be a problem for some actors.

Yeah, and Keanu Reeves is always a brain dead moron and Vin Deisel is an emotionless musclehead.

Two did catch me off guard.
1. When Antonio "Desperado" Banderas did the faggy musical EVITA with Madonna.
2. Wesley Snipes and Patrick Swayze playing drag queens in Too Wong Foo.
Now there are some against type roles these guys did!

I can see your point, and I agree. Michael Keaton I don't find as typecast as other actors you listed, though. Sarah Michelle Geller will never crawl herself out of that grave known as Buffy.

Sarah Michelle Geller will never crawl herself out of that grave known as Buffy. That, or talking to some retarded 3-D dog that hunts ghosts.
