A Nightmare on Elm Street
Very scary, very dark... and a very cool horror movie. It's a classic as far as I'm concerned. Freddy is at his best here. You have the boiler room scenes, which are very "cozy" like. When I watch those scenes, I feel good. I grew up with this series, and the original, is nearly perfect, if not.
10/10
Freddy's Revenge
Not that great a movie all around, but a great movie to watch on a rainy afternoon... with nothing much to do. The body count is low until nearly the end, but after watching an interview with the director... I understand why. This movie does have a great opening, and still feels "Nightmarish".
7/10
Dream Warriors
Really gets the series going here. It all makes sense, it's all... right. A few good chills... and I'm glad to see Nancy returning. It gets into Freddy's past a bit more, and has some really good nightmare sequences. Also another great movie to drink to. The kids are all well thought out, and Freddy gets his "great" sense of humour that you either love or hate.
9/10
The Dream Master
A great sequel, that may be a little too cheesey at times... but to me that doesn't mean it should be classified as a cheesey horror movie. This, and the others, is what I think of when it comes to the 80s. The nightmares are cool, the characters and situations are nothing for me to complain about, and the end is great. A fun horror movie all around.
9/10
The Dream Child
A decent continuation that may be a little bleh, but still is worthy. I actually really do enjoy this movie as with the others. Yvonne was annoying and Jacob didn't impress me... but nearly everything else was just great. This sequel is seemingly as dark as the first two, still with some whacky Freddy humour. Final thought... not as bad as people say.
7/10
Freddy's Dead
A better sequel that has something to, or not to, look forward to. It's Freddy's time, and even though he goes out with a sighing spark... I guess this one was pretty good. Like the others, you just really do have to have a good memory about it. Freddy's past gets into a lot more detail, and it needed to. Freddy's sense of humour is also either considered well done, or just ridiculous.
8/10
Wes Craven's New Nightmare
A fresh idea, that takes the series to a more or less indefinate end. The dream stalker truly is scarier, and I just really love the plot. "Reel" meets "Real" in this one of a kind, yes I'm about to say it... classic. I love this movie because it really is "New". Freddy is different, even though he really isn't "Freddy". I think that's enough of the " " for now, but if I haven't gotten it out to you all ready... let me just say this. It's a really good movie. One to drink to.
