Complaints, complaints and more complaints, thats all I hear about this film. Before it came out I heard so many complaints about it. The film finally came out over here in Australia, I had a spare $10 so I went into the city to check it out. And boy howdy, I had a hoot! One guy was even so kind as to vomit in the cinema at the leg shaving scene, to me, thats the sign of a good horror movie. But, I'm a little different from most people so I'll do a personal review as me, and have parareviewing the film my average joe alter-ego Chris Grant.

The film revolves around a group of teens, fresh out of high-school and ready to party. The hapless eejits head into the friendly-redneck infested woods and set up camp. After an infected man comes to get help from the token possibly-gay comedy relief, ity sets off a chain of gruesome events concerning a flesh eating virus. Now, call me crazy but I enjoyed these teens, I found them far more funny and deep than most films portray youth, even after Grim comes along, offers pot and lets us know these guys are nothing more than typical horror fodder. Most complaints I hear is that the movie is so slow and boring, but as stated in the commentary, thats just the oldschool way of pacing, it actually lets things resonate, as all my favourite classic horror does. The movie also has a great sense of humor, which makes this film a great experience as a whole.

fukin hell, i never been so bored in my holl life til now i seen thsi crap. the teens are stupid & idiots. i hate this crap most becoz it takes to long for things to die, i sat tere for 40 minutes before anything happened. bah-oring!!! there are boobs wich were good tho. the movie tries to be funny but it is not, wot the fuk was up with dat pancake kid, horror shoulndt be funny, take a tip from classic like the ring or haunting dipshit.

Ahh, the technical side of things. Cabin fever is a low budget movie, but it really doesn't show. There is a lot of really beautiful camera work, some shots taken directly from other films as homage. The gore is good, and the most is made from a lot of the characteds corpses or misguided shaving adventures, plus the film really gets chunky in the end. Most of the gore is as subtle as it can be, and can sometimes come off as non-existent or people plainly covered in kero syrup.
Chris-
this movie woz so cheap, so people only get covered in blood and the camera sux.
Elkwoodjack-
In the end, there were two things going on in my mind- "yeahhh!!!!! Finally! and old school horror movie back on the big screen!" and "Oh man." It depressed me. I see Eli Roth, a man completely passionate about the horror genre, creating a fun new 80's horror film experience, then I see audiences hating it, thats when I know this type of film is dead, and I'm gonna be stuck with crap like The Ring and all the other pretentious crap that comes out nowadays. Good work Eli, trying to preserve a dying art.
Chris-
I cannot say how much i hate this movie, its so slow and its not funny @all. don't go see dis thing, eli can burn in hell he could have made it scary at least and not so fukin slow and boring and slow. DIE ELI DIE! if u wanna be scared see the ring or 6th sense.
