As a fan of the first vol. i was really anticipating the follow up. Sadly, it loses the pace of the first in exchange for Tarantino banter, which is a hit and miss here. I love Tarantino's films as much as the next guy, but some of the scenes here really seemed to drag on.
Michael Madsen plays it somber and never really shows us what made Budd so dangerous in the first place. Daryl Hannah is the gem here. Elle Driver was the highlight for me. Crazy, manipulating woman! Wish there was more of her. Pei Mei also. No one was more excited at seeing David Carradine play a villian again as i was, but he doesnt really play up the menace he is made out to be.
I almost agree with the people who say QT could easily have shaved off 40 or so minutes and released it as one complete epic. There just seemed to be too much excess and that surprises me considering Quentin puts so much into every scene.
Somewhat dissapointing, but still has its moments. The battle with The bride and Elle being my favorite. The first is still a fave and i will probably see it a lot more than i will the second, shame, maybe next time, QT.
