John Woo will produce and direct...
John Woo has signed on to direct and produce He-Man, a live-action pic based on the characters in Mattel's "Masters of the Universe" line of action figures. Adam Rifkin will adapt the screenplay.
He-Man has was adapted into cartoon series in 1983, and a 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man.

What is our world coming to? Producing cartoon movies? He-man is stupid! Look at all the peopel movies that are based on cartoons: He-man Dragonball Z Rugrats God stop the horror!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, could be good. I think the original is pretty underrated. It's not fantastic by any means, but it's solid.

Yea but I was disapointed as it was only barely like He-Man. I read about the first draft ending which was quite weird.

I love the cartoon but I don't know if they can really create the atmosphere that needs to be created for this film to work. But I guess that there going to give it a go, so we'll see what happens with this one.

My biggest worry is I can see He-Man jumping out from behind a rock while Doves fly in the air, all in slow motion as he throws his sword through the air....LMAO

The biggest mistake of the original film was the studio not putting decent money into it. If their gonna go cheap with their directors and actors, their gonna get a cheap movie. John Woo, while an unusual choice, is a high caliber director. Now if they could just make the film closer to the cartoon, they might actually have a hit on their hands!
