Quentin Tarantino And Kung-Fu Posted By Nadia on 11.02.04
Next pic will pay homage to old kung-fu films...
Quentin Tarantino plans on doing a kung-fu film as his next picture. The film will have all the dialogue in Mandarin Chinese and out-of-sync English dubbing in homage to many such films in the past.
In an interview, Tarantino said he decided to do the kung-fu movie instead of Inglorious Bastards, the working title of his long-expected movie based on World War II.
"I enjoyed shooting all the Japanese stuff in Kill Bill so much that this whole film will be entirely in Mandarin," he was quoted as saying.

Didn't he just do this new "Hero" movie with Jet-Li?

Didn't he just do this new "Hero" movie with Jet-Li? yes, he did. I heard that it was sorta sucky, but it was from an "unreliable source" so i dont really believe that one. Is that movie any good?

Well I think he was one of the writers... but he didn't direct it or anything. He probably wants to do a Kung-Fu movie his way (totally his way).
I never saw "Hero" but last time I checked it was rated like #80(ish) in IMDB's top 250.

The movie "ying xiong" originally was from the year 2002, but Tarantino payed to bring it to US, wich means that he doesn't have nothing to do with the movie.

Actually, as F-Wise said, Tarantino had nothing to do with Hero. He just gave it money to play in the US. He did the same thing with Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, too.

I can't say that I'm really into Tarantino's style of filmmaking.
