Starting January 1st, America's largest video chain will dispense with charging it's customers Late fee's. Well, i say, about bloody time!
Let this show you how competition is a good thing. Netflix was a key factor in Blockbuster's decision by offering DVD's with no late charges.
It's always funny when i see these big corporations having to bend and change their strategies because competition outsmarts them. It happened when Napster started the digital revolution against the recording industry, and it is still happening with all these cell phone business' vying for the consumers pocket change.
Remember when they charged you for roaming? Then one decided not to charge roaming, now most of them act like they were never on the roaming bandwagon! "Charging for roaming is Bad! Use us instead!" This coming from a company who screwed you with roaming charges last summer!
Well, once again i am afforded the luxury of watching big tycoons fumble around as they try to adapt to the current times. And why not? They suck nut.

I personally think this is stupid on Blockbusters part... I mean seriously, were they not making millions (billions??) of dollars regardless... now I'm just gonna rent stuff and keep it for like a month..... idiots!

I don't get this. What is preventing me from keeping something I rented from Blockbuster? If it's late will they continuosly call me until I give in? How long before they call the cops on me?

I wish they'd do that here, my brother-inlaw always uses my account at Blockbuster and rents games and takes them back 3 days late which means I owe Blockbuster $18 fuckin' dollars just for an overnight game that was returned 3 days late!

Wait, there's a catch 22 to this! If you keep the rental over a week, they automatically sell it to you on your account.

ahhh, here's the catch... I bet they make more monye with this.... since they're talking about no late fees, but not this little tidbit of information.... I mean really, this is worse than late fees (in my opinion anyway)...

In an article I was reading it said that if you don't return the movie after a certain amount of days they charge you the full price of the movie. Probably the previuosly viewed price. So they sell it to you anc next time you go to blockbusters you have to pay the price. Still kind of like a late fee.
