Nice to see another Bentley Little fan.
I also like Stephen King and Richard Laymon.
Another worth mentioning is John Steakly even though he hasn't written much. I enjoyed his book Vampire$ a lot.

No I enjoy both Poe and Lovecraft, but I suppose in my head I was thinking people still writing, who had new stuff coming out, though I guess King is no longer on that list..

No Poe or Lovecraft fans in here? I've read Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness but that's about it. I have mixed feelings about it. It moved slowly with a lot of detail, but that is understandable when a story is being experienced by a team of scientists. Even if it had a slow pace I did enjoy the fictional world and strange history in it. Also the Shoggoths made me think of John Carpenter's remake of The Thing.

No Poe or Lovecraft fans in here? All of Lovecraft I've read is "The Colour from Out of Space" and it was pretty damn good and creepy. Nothing much else from H.P. I've read, though. As for Poe, I've read "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Raven" and they were both marvelous. I just need to read more of his material.
